The inspiration of Chartwell

Where it came from: Winston Churchill’s Chartwell House.

Description: Chartwell green takes its name from Chartwell House, the Kent family home of Winston Churchill. A soft green was used for the garden furniture and woodwork, and was inspired by the green of the surrounding countryside and gardens. From this came the Chartwell Green we know today.

Not a ‘standard’ green

Why it is not standard: Chartwell Green does not have a RAL colour code.

Description: RAL is an industry standard in paint colours, for applications not limited to doors. However, unlike Black Upvc Back Doors, Anthracite Grey Upvc Doors and Agate Grey Back Doors, our Chartwell Green doors are not coloured in a RAL standard finish. While not part of the RAL range, Chartwell Green can be closely matched to Pale Green (RAL 6021), although one should make a visual comparison between paints and Chartwell Green to ensure a suitable match if painting surrounds.

Alternatively, toplights, side panels and windows can be replaced not only in matching Chartwell green, but also with Upvc equivalents in the same profile as our Upvc Doors, rather than painting existing ones.
